Voice Hangouts in Voice Chat is one of the elegant features of WhatsApp for group conversations, similar to the Discord audio channels. Meta has announced that it is updating this feature inside the Messenger platform, allowing the largest group chat members to join Hangouts Audio.
Voice Hangouts was shipped in audio chats in 2023. It provides specific features on the standard audio communication feature, such as enabling automatic conversations, providing foldable chat interface, and allowing users to join or leave chat without other participants. While the application already supported up to 256 participants in one conversation, this extent has risen to more than a thousand in the last update.
WhatsApp feature that resembles Discord gets a batch
WhatsApp said in a press statement that the audio Hangouts of Voice Chat will now accommodate “collections of all sizes”, which means that every place of rest can host up to 1024 participants – Quadrupling of the previous limit (a nice signal to the bilateral numbers there, Meta!). This is significantly significantly and can work well for many group chats with open membership.
As usual, Hangouts will remain the voice chat sound working for smaller groups, with at least two participants for each chat.

How to start Hangouts Voice in WhatsApp
The start of Hangout Voice includes hitting and sticking from the bottom of the group chat for a few seconds until it calls, allowing you to start talking. Voice Hangouts also ends automatically after 60 minutes of lack of activity by any members. At the same time, Meta emphasizes that it uses a comprehensive encryption of all calls and messages, including the voice Hangouts in the audio chat.
Meta has already launched the promotion voice chat with the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS and Android, ensuring that the size of the largest groups does not leave other members.
