IVE will participate in the design of the device, as well as many former Apple Design employees who participated in the founding of IO with IVE, including Tang Tan, Scott Cannon and Evans Hankey, who led the design in Apple after the company left in 2019. Hanki, Tan, and a cannon will join Openai.
Openai has been in talks with Altman and IVE about the acquisition or partnership since April. Openaii will provide artificial intelligence experience, while IO will deal with engineering and lovefrom will design. Lovefrom will take over the design in Openai.
“I think we have the opportunity here to completely imagine what it means using a computer,” Altman said. Previous leaks and details about IO have described what IVE is working as a smartphone without a screen, although little is known at this time. AI devices have not been done on screen -free sound menu like Rabbit R1 and Humane Ai Pin well so far, but IVE is famous for its design experience, and Openai pioneer in the field of industry. Partnership can lead to a device that other companies cannot produce.
