With the appearance of ESIMS, more and more supporting phones support SIM, and often connects the main SIM card with ESIM secondary, so you can get two numbers for the phone on multiple transport companies (perhaps). Not everyone needs to use more than SIM at a time each time, but it is especially useful for international travel or work. Currently, Android is presenting a signal of signal strength sides side by side, and it is not the best design, but this changes in Android 16.

Google updates the appearance of signal strength indicators in the status bar in the latest version of Android 16 Quarterly Platform 1. RBRTXDThe new symbol has two strips to sign on top of each other, with the main SIM appearance at the top a little larger than the secondary SIM at the bottom.
This new appearance is much easier than understanding than the previous appearance, which is characterized by the presence of two signal icons icons next to each other without any clear difference between them. It is also difficult to know the actual level of power with the current device, due to the lack of a separation indicator between signal bars.
Google seems to take some pages from the Apple play book. This new double SIM signal icon appears to be very similar to what is currently in iOS 18, and Google appears to be also inspired by Apple with the upcoming battery icon changes as well.
Although it seems inspired by Google inspired by Apple, users seem to welcome this change mostly. From the discussion of Reddit, users were not adult fans with the previous design, saying that this new look is good and long date, and Spacein provides the status bar. Another user commented that now “it seems that the phone has been surprised that it has a mobile signal,” as it appears to be four exclamation signs (!!!!).
